Obituary for Harold Raymond King

Harold King, age 84, of Schaller, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2016. He died at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa.  
 

Harold Raymond King was born February 13, 1931 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of Harry and Lora Alice (Ferguson) King. He was raised on the farm homesteaded by his great-grandfather. Harold attended Eureka #1 country school eight years and graduated from Schaller High School in 1948. After graduation, he helped his father farm and took over the operation in 1958, when his father passed away. 

In 1951, Harold joined the 103rd Artillery Reserve Corps. He was a member of the Lions Club, Northwest Experimental Association, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and has served on the Farm Bureau Board, Soil Conservation Committee, Pork Producers Board and the Sac County Rural Electric Coop board. He was a lifelong member holding several offices in the First Presbyterian Church of Schaller.  

On June 19, 1957, Harold was united in marriage to Marilyn Miller at the Methodist Church in Harlan, Iowa. This union was blessed with four children: Denise, Kevin, Julie, and Jeff.
He was a loving, caring husband, father, and grandfather. Harold enjoyed visiting with people and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
